Delhi Daredevils Beat Kings XI Punjab to End Losing Streak

IPL - Delhi DaredevilsThe Delhi Daredevils have beaten the Kings XI Punjab, winning by five wickets. The Kings XI Punjab ended with 165/7, and the Delhi Daredevils ended with 169/5. The Delhi Daredevils have been suffering from a winless streak that has lasted their last 11 matches.

The team was extremely happy to break the pattern and win the match. Both Yuvraj Singh and Mayank Agarwal batted well, each scoring quick half centuries that helped to take the team to its win.

Yuvraj said: “It was a big relief, not in terms of getting runs but in terms of the team winning after a string of losses, which was hurting the team badly.”

Although the team had not managed to win either of its two previous games in this year’s IPLT20, Yuvraj noted: “We played good cricket in the first two games that we lost. We needed one win for a morale boost. It was great determination shown by the boys to get those two points and hopefully we can get a few wins from now. We are just going to go out there and be positive.”

Yuvraj explained that it really is about winning the games, and getting the points, and reaching a settled combination. Without the wins, there are constant changes until the team settles, making it harder to win until the right combination is reached.

He said: “We look settled at the moment. Let’s see what happens in the future.”

Yuvraj had not played so well in the first two games, with a only nine in one game, and 27 in the other. He seemed to settle in by the third game, with some quality batting. He explained that there is not much time to settle in when playing in T20s. Always the team player, he noted that the important part is to play your best for the team.
