Dravid, Tendulkar to Play in Champions League

The squad has been named, and Rahul Dravid and SachinTendulkar, each cricket legends in their own right, have been named to the Champions League team. The Champions League is scheduled to take place from September 17th, 2013, until October 6th, 2013. The squad for the Champions League was announced on Friday.

Rahul Dravid has said that it is likely that this coming Champions League will be his last. Dravid has been chosen to play in the Rajashtan Royals team. Even if this is not Dravid’s final cricket tournament, it seems that he has no plans to continue playing in any of the high profile tournaments.

After the previous IPL, Dravid said: “At 41,12 months is a long way away. Luckily we have qualified for the Champions League, which is a few months away. You know, I think that would be it!”

Sachin Tendulkar has been chosen to play with the Mumbai Indians team. This top cricket player, who is particularly popular, had already announced that he is retiring from the Indian Premier League (IPL) after the last edition took place.

Sachin Tendulkar recently had a three and a half month break from cricket. Tendulkar has been recovering from a write injury that he sustained when he was batting on May 13th in the IPL. Tendulkar underwent surgery for his injury and is now ready to return to the game competitively.

Tendulkar will be playing in the Test Tour in South Africa in November. Should he play in the Test tour, as is expected, it will be his 200th Test. Not only is this a personal record, but it is also a cricket record that will have been broken since he will be the first player to have played in 200 Tests.

He said: “I had surgery done on my hand for the injury I sustained during the IPL match in May. I have already started batting at the nets since the last ten days, and I am looking forward to the Champions League.”
