In the next India vs West Indies match on 13th November, India won again. India finished at 154/5 in 38 overs, and the West Indies women’s team ended with 153/7 in 50 overs.
India won the match by five wickets with help from excellent bowling. West Indies elected to bat first, and struggled to get the lead they had hoped for. The West Indies Jhulanopeners, Shaquana Quintyne and Hayley Matthews were bowled out by Jhulan Goswami in consecutive overs giving the team a difficult start with 20 for 2.
After having won this game, India has won the three-match series against the West Indies. One more ODI will still take place this week. The West Indies team had hoped to secure an automatic entry into the 2017 Women’s World Cup. The two ODI losses have not given the team the direct entry to the tournament that they had hoped for.
