The Indian cricket team will be doing a tour of South Africa in December. The upcoming tour is a far shorter one with less games than was originally proposed in July this year. After there had been arguments and disputes regarding this cricket tour to South Africa, some are surprised that it is even going ahead. Cricket South Africa (CSA), and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) managed to finally come to an agreement, and the schedule now includes two Test series, three One Day Internationals, and a practice game.
The Indian team will arrive in South Africa on 2nd December. After a couple of days of rest, the first One Day International game will take place on 5th December 2013. The cricket match will take place at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The next One Day International match will take place on 8th December, and it will take place in Kingsmead in Durban. The third One Day International will be taking place on 11th December, and it will take place in Centurion at the SuperSport Park.
On the 14th and the 15th of December, the Indian team will be playing against the SA Invitation XI in a two day practice and warm up game. This game will be taking place in Benoni at the Willowmoore Park.
From 18th December to the 22nd December, the first Test match will be played. This will take place in Johannesburg at the Wanderers Stadium. The second scheduled Test match will take place starting on 26th December, and will end on 30th December. The second Test will be played in Durban in Kingsmead.
South African fans are somewhat saddened that the tour was shortened and that there will be no New Years Day cricket at Newlands in Cape Town.
