Indian Super League Heads into Semi-Finals

Soccer Ball2The Indian Super League (ISL) is currently underway. The excitement is mounting as the league has reached the knockout stage. The most recent matches have been particularly exciting as the final few teams have made their way to the top.

The four teams that have made it to the final matches are the Delhi Dynamos FC, FC Goa, Chennaiyin FC, and Atletico de Kolkata. FC Goa will be playing against the Delhi Dynamos FC, and Chennaiyin FC will be battling it out against Atletico de Kolkata in the semi-finals. Both the semi-final games will have two legs.

While the Atletico de Kolkata team are currently the clear favorites, it still remains to be seen who will win the ISL 2015.

Delhi Dynamos FC Plan Football Academy

The Delhi Dynamos have announced that they have partnered with BRICS to launch a football academy in India. BRICS is made up of five countries with emerging national economies, Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The academy will help to train young and talented football players beginning with children above the age of five.

In the BRICS Under-17 Football Cup 2016, India will be represented by the Delhi Dynamos. India is hosting the tournament next year. The Delhi Dynamos will be participating in a number of programs.

The residential football academy will be involved with a number of grassroots level activities in the north of India. The academy will be located at Lucknow.

The Delhi Dynamos FC President, Prashant Agarwal, said: “We at Delhi Dynamos FC have always worked towards the development of the game at grassroots level and we hope to see more and more children taking up the sport professionally, and benefiting from the football academies.”

The initiative is one that is looking to the future of football in India, seeking out young talent, and providing them with training that will include exposure to both players and coaches from the international football world.
