Not a Good Start for Indian Players at World Cup of Golf

The Golf World Cup is currently underway in Australia. The Indian players have not had a good start to the tournament, along with the gusts of wind that is bothering all the players. The two Indian players are Gaganjeet Bhullar, and Anirban Lahiri. The players are currently playing in the USD 8 Million World Cup of Golf.

Lahiri played a better game than Bhullar. Bhullar shot 11-over 82, while Lahiri did not make the cut last week at the Talisker Masters, however, he did manage to end the first part of the Golf World Cup with only one over 72. With this bad start to the golfing tournament, the Indian players have ended up in the same position as the New Zealand players. Both the New Zealand players and the Indian players found themselves in the 25th place.

The World Cup of Golf 2013 is being played in Melbourne at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club, which is a Composite Course. The prize money for this prestigious golfing tournament is $7 million to the individual who wins, plus an additional $1 million that would go to the team. Par on this golf course is 71, and the yardage of the course is 7,024.

In the first round the United States and Denmark were coming first with a total of 137. After that comes Portugal with 140, and then Scotland, Canada, and South Korea, who all had 141. The final five places of the first round went to the Netherlands with 150, Italy with 151, China with 152, and the New Zealand team and the Indian team found themselves at the end of the list with 154.

Coming up soon in the Indian golfing world is the Hero Women’s Indian Open golf tournament that will be played from 28th November.
