Pune Football Club Youngsters Go to Munich

India - Pune Football ClubThere are five lucky and skilled Pune Football Club youth who are about to experience an incredible chance to play football in Munich, Germany. These five Pune Football Club youth players will be representing India at the FC Bayern Youth Cup Under 16, Six-A-Side football tournament.

The players are all from the Peninsula Pune FC Academy, the PPFCA. The players, Aniket Jadhav, Sebastian Thangmuansang, Omkar More, Manoranjan Singh, and Krishanu Santra, are from the residential youth. These players get to experience playing soccer in the city of Munich, which is well known as the city which hosts the German football champions.

This is not the first time that Pune FC youngsters have traveled to Munich. In fact, it is the second time in just three years. In 2012, India’s Six-A-Side team that went to Munich with two players from the Pune FC youth players. The Pune FC players that had represented India in the Under 19 Six-A-Side in 2012 were Rushabh Dhere, who is still with the Pune FC, and also Rohan Fasge, who was the Under 15 keeper at that time.

When the FC Bayern Youth Cup was held in New Delhi in February this year, there players will all members of the Under 16 squad. Pune Football Club’s Under 16 squad played well on its way to victory. At the time of the FC Bayern Youth Cup in New Delhi, the German scouts handpicked these young football players to represent India, forming part of the team that would be going to the Global FC Bayern Youth Cup.

The Indian squad that left for Munich earlier this week is a ten man squad that is made up of half its players from the Pune Football Club and the other half from various other football clubs in India. The Youth Cup is a grass roots developmental program.
