Sachin Tendulkar Joins BCCI Advisory Committee

India - BCCI - Board of Cricket Control in IndiaThe new Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president, Jagmohan Dalmiya, is looking to make some positive changes now that he is at the helm of the cricket governing body.

One of the changes Dalmiya has implemented is that veteran high profile cricket players would be invited to sit on the Board’s advisory committee. This committee advises on a number of important decisions. Currently, the BCCI needs to make a decision as to who will be the new coach of the Indian cricket team.

Sachin Tendulkar was invited to sit on the advisory committee. Along with another two invitees, Sourav Ganguly, and VVS Laxman, he has accepted the invitation. The three iconic Indian cricket players will now be in a position to advise the president of the BCCI. It is hoped and expected that the committee will benefit both players and fans.

In making the decision regarding the team’s coach, there are those who strongly favor choosing an Indian coach, while others favor choosing a coach from another country. With the mixed feelings regarding this appointment, it is important that all views are considered before a final decision is made.

In order to help make the most effective decision in hiring the new coach, Tendulkar, Ganguly, and Laxman, will play a large part in the decision-making process.

Anurga Thakur, BCCI Secretary, said: “On behalf of all my colleagues in the BCCI, I thank Sachin, Sourav, and Laxman for having accepted our invitation to be part of this prestigious committee, and I am confident that their invaluable advice will help Indian Cricket regain its leadership position in all formats of the game. Their participation augurs well for the future of the game in our country and the noble intention to give back to the game,’ is commendable.
