India v Australia: Second T20i Odds and Betting Preview

By Matt Harris on February 25, 2019

India were red hot favourites to take Sunday’s opening T20. However, the unpredictable nature of the short form always offers some value. Case in point, Australia came through in a tight, low scoring contest. As a result, the tourists can now close out this series with a win in Hyderabad. The 2nd T20i odds for India v Australia for Wednesday’s game are largely unchanged, though. So if you’re taking a Satta, this is what you can expect.

What are the 2nd T20i odds for India v Australia?

Virat Kohli’s India were available at around 1.50 for Sunday’s game and have drifted just slightly now to odds of 1.53 with Betway. Australia, meanwhile, have shortened to 2.50. And there will be plenty of interest in the visitors at that figure.

It may have gone down to the last ball, but the Aussies are a threat in both of the shorter forms. This in is no small part thanks to power hitters such as Aaron Finch, D’Arcy Short and Glenn Maxwell. The bowling unit is a tight one so once again, that 2.50 win price looks too long. However, we were predicting a 1-1 series score at the start . Therefore, we’ll back India to respond with a more dominant performance and to level things up.

Match Odds Summary: India 1.53 (Betway – Editor’s Pick), Australia 2.50

What are the top batsman 2nd T20i odds for India v Australia?

There was some criticism of Indian selection for that first game. Many, including Aakash Chopra, were unhappy to see Shikhar Dhawan left out. The opener may come back in for Hyderabad and he is available in India’s top batsman market at 4.50 with Bet365.

Virat Kohli starts as favourite at 3.50, followed by Rohit Sharma at 3.75. KL Rahul delivered the profit on Sunday and he is on offer at 5.00. Other options for India include Rishabh Pant at 6.00 and Vijay Shankar at 7.00. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni is at 8.00.

We now move across to Australia where we’d identified top scorer Glenn Maxwell as the main threat in Visakhapatnam. Maxwell is available for Wednesday’s contest at 5.00. However, Aaron Finch and D’Arcy Short are joint favourites at 3.75.

Your winner may well come from those three. But other batters to consider include Usman Khawaja at 4.00 and Shaun Marsh at 4.50. Finally, while Marcus Stoinis was a long-priced option for Sunday, he now comes in at 4.50.

We were surprised ourselves to see Shikhar Dhawan left out of Sunday’s match. KL Rahul stepped in and top scored but for Hyderabad, the selectors may want to consider both men with Dinesh Karthik the man most likely to miss out.

We’ll obviously want to check those team sheets first. Nevertheless, Dhawan is in good form from the New Zealand series and is our tip at 4.50.

Top Batsman Odds Summary: India: Kohli 3.50, Rohit Sharma 3.75, Dhawan 4.50 (Bet365 – Editor’s Pick), Rahul 5.00, Pant 6.00, Shankar 7.00, Dhoni 8.00.

Australia: Finch 3.75, Short 3.75, Khawaja 4.00, Marsh 4.50, Stoinis 4.50, Maxwell 5.00.

What are the most sixes 2nd T20i odds for India v Australia?

Both teams registered just two sixes each in that low scoring affair at Visakhapatnam. The tie does come in with some regularity in the most sixes betting, but this time we’ll look for a clear winner.

For Wednesday in Hyderabad, we’re expecting a more clinical performance from India. We will therefore take our final Satta on the home team at 1.95. It’s a little safe after a slow start to our series tips. But with India as short as 1.80 in places, the price is reasonable and will hopefully contribute to a far more profitable day in Hyderabad.

Most Sixes Odds Summary: India 1.95 (Betway – Editor’s Pick), Australia 2.40, The Tie 8.00.
