New Zealand v India: Third T20i Odds and Betting Preview

By Matt Harris on February 9, 2019

A calm run chase in Auckland on Friday saw India level this T20 series with New Zealand. Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni closed out the seven wicket win after Rohit Sharma had earlier become the highest international run scorer in this form of the game. With things now level, lets take a look at the 3rd T20i odds for New Zealand v India.

Hamilton is the venue for Sunday’s third and final match.

What are the 3rd T20i odds for New Zealand v India?

This has been an entertaining series for the neutral, even though it hasn’t always been competitive. We now have a decider on our hands.

The match result odds have been largely unchanged throughout this T20 series, though. And India will go into Hamilton as favourites at 1.66 with Betway. Those taking a Satta on New Zealand will find odds of 2.15. And there can always be value in the outsiders in the short form of the game.

T20 cricket can be a lottery at times. And New Zealand have shown how dangerous they can be in limited overs cricket. India have suffered two heavy defeats, but the Kiwis lack that crucial consistency. As the stronger side with momentum carried over from Friday, expect India to close out this series.

Match Odds Summary: New Zealand 2.15, India 1.66 (Betway – Editor’s Pick)

What are the top batsman 3rd T20i odds for New Zealand v India?

Rohit Sharma made exactly 50 to deliver the profits in Auckland, and the stand-in skipper leads India’s top batsman market once again. Rohit can be claimed at 3.25, while Shikhar Dhawan is second favourite at 3.95 with Betrally.

Rishabh Pant’s cameo of 40 from 28 balls guided India home on Friday. He’s likely to remain a candidate in these top batter markets for many years to come. For Hamilton, Pant is on offer at 4.50. Meanwhile, other options for India include MS Dhoni at 7.50, plus Vijay Shankar and Dinesh Karthik at 10.00.

New Zealand’s top batsman market is a tough one to call, evidenced by the fact that Colin De Grandhomme led the way with 50 in Auckland. For Sunday’s game, Kane Williamson is the favourite at 3.75. He is followed by Colin Munro at 3.85.

De Grandhomme will be an outside pick at 9.50. However, there are many other Kiwi options available, such as Tim Seifert at 4.95. As well as Ross Taylor (5.50)  and Daryl Mitchell (6.65).

There’s certainly some value in New Zealand’s top batter market. But it’s a trickier call, so we’ll stay with India again. Rohit will tend to stay in consistent form, but we’ll look for a longer priced option in Shikhar Dhawan. The left hander rediscovered his touch in the ODI series between these two. We’ll therefore back him to lead India to the 2-1 winning scoreline.

Top Batsman Odds Summary: New Zealand: Williamson 3.75, Munro 3.85, Seifert 4.95, Taylor 5.50, Mitchell 6.65, De Grandhomme 9.50.

India: Rohit Sharma 3.25, Dhawan 3.95 (Betrally – Editor’s Pick), Pant 4.50, Dhoni 7.50, Shankar 10.00, Karthik 10.00.

What are the top bowler 3rd T20i odds for New Zealand v India?

Krunal Pandya was the star with the ball in Auckland. Meanwhile, his brother, Hardik, delivered a top bowler profit in the first T20i. Both are options to return best figures for India in Hamilton and we’ll finish with a Satta in this market.

There are some interesting prices too, starting with Bhuvneshwar Kumar at 4.35. Khaleel Ahmed is also as short as 3.90 in places, but available at a much better 5.00. As for the Pandya brothers, Krunal is at 5.75 and Hardik at 5.95. However, we’re looking to Yuzvendra Chahal.

When Kuldeep Yadav is absent, Chahal needs to step up. And at decent odds of 4.25, we’ll back him to play his part in spinning India to victory.

India Top Bowler Odds Summary: Chahal 4.25 (Betrally – Editor’s Pick), Kumar 4.35, Ahmed 5.00, Krunal Pandya 5.75, Hardik Pandya 5.95.
