Delta Corp Opens On-Shore Goa Casino

India - Delta Corp LimitedLast week, Delta Corp was given the go-ahead to begin operating its on-shore casino in Goa. Visitors to the recently opened casino can enjoy a number of casino games including favorites such as blackjack, roulette, and baccarat.

The casino has been granted its license and has been opened at the Deltin Suites. Deltin Suites is a five-star hotel with 106 rooms. It is expected that the casino will boost business at Deltin Suites. The casino at the Deltin Suites is the first on-shore casino operated by Delta Corp.

The Chairman of Delta Corp, Jaydev Mody, commented on the new venture: “We are happy to receive the license and we have started operations at the new casino. We are hoping for the same response as we have been receiving at our offshore casinos.”

The Chief Finanaicl Officer of Delta Corp, Hardik Dhebar, added: “This license is a testament of our belief that the gaming business in India is slated for an impressive and exponential growth.”

Delta Corp is India’s only listed gaming and hospitality company. After the announcement was made that Delta had been given the go-ahead to start operating its land-based Goa casino, the company’s stock jumped up by about 6%.

The company is the main player in the Goan casino market. Detla Corp operates two of the Goa offshore casinos, the Deltin Jack and the Deltin Royale. The company owns a third floating casino in the area, however, at this time, the Deltin Caravela is in the process of being renovated.

In Daman, one of the three Indian states that offers legalized gambling, along with Goa and Sikkim, Delta already operates The Deltin Daman. Delta Corp is almost finished adding its new casino in order to make The Deltin Daman a fully integrated resort. The new casino will provide between 1,000 and 1,000 employment positions.
