India cricket odds are on the betting board again for punters. India offered good value as the outside bet for Tuesday’s first game at Old Trafford and Virat Kohli’s men duly came through to give their supporters a profit at odds of 2.10.
England may have risen to the top of the ODI rankings but in Twenty20 cricket things are more even and India are worthy opponents.
We now move on to Friday’s second game in Cardiff and, based on that opening result, we should expect to see a much tighter market for this contest.
What are the cricket odds for England vs. India?
England remain favourites to win Friday’s second T20i and you can back Eoin Morgan’s side at odds of 1.90 with Betrally. That figure leaves India as the outside bet at 1.95 with Betway.
England’s one day cricketers may well get a reality check in this series and while their limited overs squad has played so much more positively since the last World cup, India provide a much stiffer challenge.
We still feel this will be a tight series: From 95/1, England’s middle order were poor against the spin of Kuldeep Yadav but that won’t happen every time. A 2-1 series win to India looks likely, but a small improvement in key areas can help the home side level at 1-1 on Friday.
Match odds summary: England 1.90 (our pick), India 1.95
England vs. India cricket odds top batsman
Jos Buttler’s rich run of form continues and it looks like his best position is as opener in both forms of the one day game. Buttler top scored with 69 on Tuesday and he starts as England’s favourite for Cardiff at 3.50 with Betway. Jason Roy follows at 4.75 and Alex Hales is at 4.90 with Betrally.
England will be looking for more positive contributions from their middle order and that includes Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root who were both dismissed first ball by Kuldeep Yadav. For Friday’s game in Cardiff, Root is available at 6.00, Bairstow at 8.25 and Moeen Ali at a tempting 17.00.
KL Rahul was brilliant in the first match and his century was a big reason India came out ahead at Old Trafford. Rahul is available at 4.50 to be the top scorer for India on Friday. Virat Kohli is still the favourite in this market at 3.85.
Other options inculde the two openers, Rohit Sharma at 4.50 and Shikhar Dhawan at 4.75 while MS dhoni at 11.00 and Hardik Pandya at 21.00 are your long-shot options in the late overs.
Shikhar Dhawan has been a popular choice around these parts in recent weeks but he could be vulnerable to the swing of David Willey first up. Kohli is the pick for this match. The skipper is due for a big score and 3.85 is a generous price for a player of his quality.
Top batsman odds summary:
England: Butler 3.50, Roy 4.75, Hales 4.90, Root 6.00, Bairstow 8.25, Moeen Ali 17.00.
India: Kohli 3.85 (our pick), Rahul 4.50, Rohit 4.50, Dhawan 4.75, Dhoni 11.00, Pandya 21.00.
England vs. India cricket odds top bowler
Kuldeep Yadav gave us a good profit at 4.50 as India’s top bowler in the first match against England and it may well be worth looking at that wager again. His odds are short (3.00 at some bookmakers) but Betway have him at a good price (4.25). Stick with Kuldeep for Friday’s match in Cardiff.
India top bowler odds summary: Kuldeep Yadav 4.25 (our pick), Chahal 4.40, Umesh Yadav 4.75, Bhuvneshwar Kumar 5.00, Hardik Pandya 5.10.
