India has won the fourth Test against England. The hosts ended with a win of an innings and 36 runs.
On the final day of the Test match, England had four wickets to go, and needed 49 runs. This was simply not to be. India’s off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin took the final four wickets stopping the English team at 195.
Virat Kohli has proved to be an excellent skipper for the Indian team. Not only has he taken his team to victory, he was instrumental in doing so with his double century. Kohli succeeded Mahendra Singh Dhoni as Test captain for the team.
Kohli was pleased with his team’s performance, with particular note for Ashwin. His bowling helped to bring the team to an excellent win. Ashwin is currently ranked at the top bowler in world cricket.
“We are running out of words to describe his performances,” said Kohli about Ashwin’s top quality bowling helped the team win the game.
“Where we stand today – 50 to 60 percent of that is Ashwin’s effort. The batsmen are playing second fiddle to that.”
Kohli currently holds the noteworthy position as the player who is the highest scorer amongst Test players currently in the game. Alastair Cook, the skipper of the England team, complimented Kohli for his performance in the match: “Clearly (Kohli) is one of the greatest batsmen of our generation.”
