India Far Ahead in Second Innings of the Fourth Test

After Australia had a strong start in the four-Test series currently underway in India, things are not looking up for the visitors. Australia took the first Test, with India taking the second, and the third Test declared a draw.

The final Test of the India – Australia series is almost done, and things are looking very good for India. In the first innings, Australia ended with 300/10 and India ended with 332/10. Australia made very few runs in the second innings ending with a dismal 137/10. The India team is currently at 19/0, and needs just 87 runs to win the series.

The Australian cricket team has been playing well this Test, but two poor sessions are likely to lead to their undoing. It is likely that there will be just one more day of play in Dharamsala, and the visitors plan to give the hosts as hard a time as they can. Australia does have a chance of winning, but the likelihood is not high.

The India cricket team appears to have its mojo back, which has been seen with the very disciplined bowling, and a good start to its second innings. Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each, bowling out the tourists in their second innings today.

The spinner, Ashwin, commented on the fourth Test, noting: “It was magical. You couldn’t have asked for more. Jaddu and Saha batted really well. We get our noses ahead. Great spells by Umesh and Bhuvi. Australia batted really well yesterday too, we had to buckle down. This morning was really special. Saha and Jaddu were fantastic.”

Ashwin also heaped additional praised on Jadeja, who has taken 81 wickets in 13 Tests.

The fourth Test continues on Tuesday in what will most likely be the final day of the series at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
