The India cricket tour of South Africa is coming to a close. There has been some outstanding cricket to watch over the past weeks.
India had a slow start, winning only one out of the three Test matches. The visiting team came into its own in the One Day International series. The team won five out of six ODIs, while Virat Kohli beat a number of cricket world records.
Third T20 International on Saturday
The T20 International three-match series is currently underway. India won the first match by 28 runs at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The second match saw the hosts win by six wickets at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
With the T20I series currently at a draw, the final match is set to take place tomorrow at Newlands in Cape Town.
Cape Town has been suffering from a drought with serious water restrictions. There is much rejoicing in the Mother City because the much-needed rain has come.
The rain, however, could affect the final T20I match. The showers are expected to take place in the late morning. The match is set to be played at 6pm local time, which is expected to be sunny and clear.
Indian Women’s Cricket Tour of South Africa
The women’s cricket team has been playing well. After winning the ODI series 2 – 1, the team is currently in the lead in the T20I series.
The five-match T20I series has India at a 2 – 1 lead. The fourth game that was meant to be played in Centurion was rained out. The match was abandoned after just 15.3 overs.
The final women’s T20I is to be played on Saturday. The Indian team hopes to win, which will give them a two-series win in one tour of South Africa. Should the team achieve this goal, they will be the first Indian women’s side to do so.
