India v West Indies 2nd T20I: Cricket Betting Tips

By Matt Harris on December 7, 2019

This three-match India v West Indies T20 series kicked off with a feast of runs in Hyderabad. Both teams exceeded 200 in what was a thrilling game of cricket. The West Indies would have been happy with 207/5… but a devastating 94 from 50 balls from Virat Kohli saw India home with eight balls to spare!

The teams now move on to Thiruvananthapuram for Sunday’s second game. While India are buoyant, could Friday’s result suggest we are in for a more entertaining series than we first thought?

What are the cricket odds for India v West Indies?

Bet365 are the only one of our recommended sportsbooks to confirm odds for Sunday’s match so far, but we know that their pricing is going to be competitive. Currently, India remain clear favourites at 1.30 while the West Indies follow at 3.50.

Not everyone would have been in agreement with our suggestion of a 2-1 series win for India. The tourists are very much the outside Satta but the first game indicated that they can always be a threat in the shortest form of the game. Bowling is clearly an issue as India had more than a full over remaining when they passed their target. For that reason, we’ll keep backing the hosts for now but that 2-1 eventual outcome looks even more likely.

Match Odds Summary

India 1.30 (Bet365 – Editor’s Pick), West Indies 3.50

What are the top batsman odds for India v West Indies?

In Hyderabad, Virat Kohli reminded us of just why he is the best. And why he can never be ignored in India’s top batsman market. The skipper went into that game with odds of 3.50. It’s a surprise to us that he remains at that same figure with Bet365. Rohit Sharma can also be claimed at 3.50 while KL Rahul’s important knock of 62 from 44 balls makes him a definite option at 4.50.

Kohli and Rahul dominated India’s reply but you can also consider Sanju Samson at 5.00, Manish Pandey at 5.50, Rishabh Pant at 6.00, Shreyas Iyer at 7.50 or Shivam Dube at 13.00.

West Indies will feel they need to keep piling on the runs if they are to stay in this series. This is a largely inexperienced and unfamiliar bowling attack and Kesrick Williams’ economy rate of 16.36 underlines the tourists’ problems. In the Windies’ top batsman betting, Evin Lewis leads the way at 3.60 before we come to four joint favourites.

Brandon King, Shimron Hetmyer, Lendl Simmons and Nicholas Pooran can all be backed at 5.00 while Kieron Pollard at 6.50 and Denesh Ramdin at 10.00 offer the value down the order.

We opted for Rohit Sharma last time and while we were guilty in overlooking Captain Kohli, we’ll keep faith with the vice skipper for now. Rohit made just eight in Hyderabad but he’s rarely out of form for long. We’re backing him to bounce back with a big contribution on Sunday.

Top Batsman Odds Summary

India: Kohli 3.50, Rohit Sharma 3.50 (Bet365 – Editor’s Pick), Rahul 4.50, Samson 5.00, Pandey 5.50, Pant 6.00, Iyer 7.50, Dube 13.00

West Indies: Lewis 3.60, King 5.00, Hetmyer 5.00, Simmons 5.00, Pooran 5.00, Pollard 6.50, Ramdin 10.00

What are the top bowler odds for India v West Indies?

India may want to look at their attack after conceding over 200 on Friday. So we could see some changes to the bowling line up. One man certain of his place after returning best figures of 2-36 is Yuzvendra Chahal. The leg spinner is the favourite in India’s top bowler market at 3.25 with Bet365.

Deepak Chahar is next at 4.25 but our man for this market is Ravindra Jadeja at 4.50. The left armer was the most economical of India’s bowlers in Hyderabad. We expect him to add more wickets into the final column on Sunday.

India Top Bowler Odds Summary

Chahal 3.25, Chahar 4.25, Jadeja 4.50 (Bet365 – Editor’s Pick), Kumar 4.50, Shami 4.50, Sundar 6.00
