The Indian cricket team has once again beaten the Sri Lankan cricket team. The hosts won by an innings and 239 runs, taking the lead in the Test series. The three-match series is standing at 1 – 0, after the first match was declared a draw.

Ashwin Hits New Bowling Record

Ravichandran Ashwin has set a new bowling record. He took his 300th wicket in the Test match against Sri Lanka. He is now the fastest bowler in Test history to have achieved this milestone, which took place on the fourth day of the second Test in Nagpur.

Virat Kohli Named Man of the Match

It is no surprise to fans that Virat Kohli was named the Man of the Match. He received this distinction for his double ton. This is his fifth double ton, and he now shares the record as the captain with the most double tons with Brian Lara. Kohli made 213 runs in his double century.

The Indian team’s skipper, Kohli, said: “The pitch was very good to bat on. It was on the slower side, but there was nothing much happening from the pitch. I just wanted to bat the way I bat.”

Sri Lanka’s Skipper Comments

Sri Lanka’s captain, Dinesh Chandimal, commented on the second Test. He said: “It was a good toss to win. Unfortunately, we were outplayed from the first day of the game.”

Chandimal further noted that while the team had a game plan, their batting unit let them down.
“It’s unfortunately but I’m sure they will learn,” he said. “Angelo is the one who is the most senior guy in the line-up. If he’s not scoring, our team goes down. I’m sure he will stand up and make it count again.”

Third Test Coming Soon

The third Test of the three-test series is set to take place in New Delhi. The match will begin on 2nd December 2017 at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.
