India’s UK Cricket Tour Begins

India’s national cricket team has arrived in the United Kingdom. While the official tour games have not yet begun, the team’s first practice match is done and dusted. India A played a practice match against the England Cricket Board XI, winning by 125 runs.

Three Half Centuries for Indian Cricket Team

The India team made three half centuries. Prithvi Shaw hit 70 off of 61 balls. Shreyas Iyer made 54 runs off of 45 balls, and Ishan Kishan just made his half century with 50 off of 46 balls.

India reached a total of 328 for 8, while England Cricket Board XI were dismissed at 203 runs in 36.5 overs.

Ishan Kishan replaced Sanju Samson on the India A team. Samson failed the fitness test, and is unable to play in the tour.

Upcoming Cricket Matches

India has come to England in order to play a 50-over tri-series. The other two participants in the tri-series are the West Indies, and the hosts, the England Lions. The series begins on 22nd June 2018.

In addition to this, there will be two unofficial Tests played. One gains the England Lions, and the other against the West Indies. The Tests are set for July, after the tri-series is over.

India will play three T20 Internationals, three One Day Internationals, and five Test matches against England. The matches will be played from July through to September.

T20 Internationals Against Ireland

India will be playing two T20 Internationals against Ireland on 27th and 29th June.

The team will be led by skipper Virat Kohli. He has been waiting to heal from a neck injury sustained during the Indian Premier League. Kohli will be joining the India A team for the entire United Kingdom tour.

Kohli had been forced to sit out the Afghanistan Test match. He also had to forgo plans he had made to play with Surrey.
