The VIVO IPL 2018 is fast approaching. The Indian Premier League is set to take place from Wednesday, 4th April until Thursday, 31st May 2018.
The Twenty20 cricket tournament is incredibly exciting, and is the biggest T20 in the world. The cricket world is already abuzz with talk about which star players will be bought by the franchises. The IPL auction will take place in Bangalore this weekend on 27th and 28th January 2018.
There are a large number of players who are available for this year’s IPL auction. This will give the teams more choice than in past auctions. The auction will be somewhat different to previous years because the salary cap has been increased this year.
Chennai Super Kings
The Chennai Super Kings have retained MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja and Suresh Raina from last year. The team has Rs. 47 crore left to spend, and the RTM (Right to Match) two players.
Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and Chris Morris have been retained by the Delhi Daredevils. The team also has Rs. 47 crore remaining, and the RTM for three players.
Kolkata Knight Riders
The Kolkata Knight Riders have chosen to retain Sunil Narine and Andre Russell who both played for the team last year. The KKRs still have Rs. 59 crore remaining and RTM for three players.
Kings XI Punjab
Only Axar Patel has been retained by Kings XI Punjab. With three RTM chances available, the team still has Rs. 67.5 crore to spend on players.
David Warner and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have been retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad. The team still has Rs. 59 crore available and three RTM chances.
Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah have all been retained by Mumbai Indians. With two RTMs left, and Rs. 67.5 crore still available, Mumbai Indians, is likely to get yet another good team together. The team are the current IPL champions after their 2017 win.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, and AB de Villiers have been retained by RCB. The team still has Rs. 47 crore remaining and two RTMs left.
Rajasthan Royals have retained Steven Smith. The team has three RTMs, and Rs. 47 crore available for this year’s IPL auction.
