Knight Riders v Royal Challengers: IPL Betting Tips

By Matt Harris on April 17, 2019

Two teams with very different agendas assemble at Eden Gardens on Friday but both will be desperate for the points. But who do our IPL tips for Knight Riders v Royal Challengers favour?

The Knight Riders remain in a playoff slot at the time of writing. Nevertheless, a run of three straight defeats leaves them in danger of dropping out of the top four. Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers have experienced a dismal IPL 12 campaign. And while it looks impossible that they will make it out of the groups, Virat Kohli’s men will be anxious to haul themselves off the bottom.

Neither team has any form coming into this contest, but who will emerge with the points?

What are the IPL tips for Knight Riders v Royal Challengers?

Following Bangalore’s seventh loss in eight games on Monday, the team drifted in the IPL markets. Consequently, KKR are currently available to beat the Royals at 2.20 with Bet365. The Knight Riders are the clear favourites at 1.66, but is there any chance of an upset?

Moeen Ali stepping up to support the side with the bat would have pleased RCB fans. However, there is still a clear lack of depth in this side. That issue was also highlighted in the bowling where Moeen and Yuzvendra Chahal’s eight overs went for just 45, while the remainder of Bangalore’s attack conceded 127 in 11. In short, this is a poor RCB side and Kolkata should take full advantage.

Match Odds Summary: Kolkata Knight Riders: 1.66 (Betway – Editor’s Pick), Royal Challengers Bangalore: 2.20 (Bet365)

What are the top batsman IPL tips for Knight Riders v Royal Challengers?

One of the few positives to come from KKR’s most recent defeat to Chennai Super Kings was the return to form of Chris Lynn. The Australian slammed 82 from 51 balls and is now favourite to top score against Bangalore at 3.75. Robin Uthappa is available at 5.00, while Joe Denly gets a mention at 5.00 with Betway.

The struggling Knight Riders will be hoping for another big contribution from Andre Russell here. The West Indian is on offer at 7.00. Other options for KKR include Nitish Rana at 5.50, Sunil Narine at 6.00, and Dinesh Karthik at 8.00.

RCB’s version of the top batsman market has a familiar look to it with Virat Kohli leading the way. The skipper is on offer at 2.87. He’s followed by AB De Villiers at 4.00.

Moeen Ali’s bright half century makes him a more serious contender at 7.00. Other picks for Bangalore include Parthiv Patel at 5.50, Marcus Stoinis at 8.50, and Shivam Dube at 13.00.

We think that Kohli will rise to the top for the Royal Challengers, but 2.87 is just too short. Instead, we’ll take that price of 7.00 for Andre Russell to top score for KKR. He’s down to 5.00 in other places. Following a decent rest since Kolkata’s last game, it’s time for another Dre Russ masterclass.

Top Batsman Odds Summary: Kolkata Knight Riders: Lynn 3.75, Uthappa 5.00, Denly 5.00, Rana 5.50, Narine 6.00, Russell 7.00 (Betway – Editor’s Pick), Karthik 8.00.

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Kohli 2.87, De Villiers 4.00, Patel 5.50, Ali 7.00, Stoinis 8.50, Dube 13.00.

What are the most sixes IPL tips for Knight Riders v Royal Challengers?

We had a tie in the Most Sixes betting when RCB lost to Mumbai as the teams shared 20 maximums. It’s worth looking out for this option when sides are evenly matched and for Friday’s game, it’s on offer at a tempting 7.50.

However, as our final IPL 2019 Satta for this fixture, we’ll opt for the Royal Challengers to record most sixes at 2.50. It’s a bit of a cover bet, in case Andre Russell falls cheaply, but that’s a good value figure on some power hitting outsiders.

Most Sixes Odds Summary: Kolkata Knight Riders: 1.75, Royal Challengers Bangalore 2.50 (Betway – Editor’s Pick), The Tie 7.50.
