Kumble has Positive Outlook for England Tour

Anil Kumble, the former Indian cricket team’s coach, and former team captain, sees a positive outlook for the UK tour. Kumble noted that the India team has a lot of experience both in batting and bowling. He feels that the team’s experience is great enough to beat England, the hosting team.

All-Round Experienced Team

Kumble said: “We have a great side, and an all-round side. In bowling we have the experience and bowlers who can take 20 wickets consistently. If you look at the batting line-up, it has a lot of experience as well.”

He noted that some of the best spinners in the world are on the team. Kumble further noted that the players have each played around 50 Test matches, and that they have toured England before. This means that they will be familiar with the conditions under which they will be playing.

“We have the best spinners in the world, and even in terms of conditions the fact that we are playing in the second-half [of summer] will help our cause. We have a great opportunity to win the series.”

The former coach explained: “In the second half of the summer, we do know that the wickets will be more suitable for them. There will be wear and tear on the wickets, and spinners will come into play much earlier than in the first half. Conditions in the first half, in the months of May and June, are more challenging in England because of the rain and dampness.”

Kumble Notes Importance of Leagues in India

Kumble recently unveiled technology that is to be used to analyse batting. The technology from his company in conjunction with Microsoft is to be used in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL).

The former team captain commented on the importance of leagues such as the TNPL. He explained how leagues such as this one allow players to gain experience and help quality players to be noticed.
