Yesterday, there were seven people arrested for gambling activity. After their arrest, there were some claims made that a gang of gamblers had been busted in the Loni area. The police made the arrest after receiving a tip-off that there was illegal gambling taking place in the area.
The gambling den bust took place late at night, and along with the seven people that were arrested, the police also seized playing cards, and Rs 5,640 from the players. Those who were arrested are Krishna, Rampal, Babloo, Tejbeer, Raju, Devendra, and Sandeep. The police are hoping to get information about the players’ accomplices, and all the gamblers ranged between 26 and 33 years of age.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, at about 1.30am, another gambling arrest had taken place in which the police arrested a total of 22 people. The arrest took place in Gandhi Nagar, in Berhampur. During the raid, the police seized a large amount of cash from those who were arrested, totaling about Rs 369, 470.
Along with the 22 arrests and the cash that was found in the gamblers’ possession, other items were also seized at the time of the raid. There were also other items that were seized according to the sub-divisional police officer in Berhampur, Thakur Prasad Patra. He noted that an LCD TV was seized, along with five sets of playing cards, and as many as 20 mobile phones were also seized. Also seized from the owner of the house , Swapna Rani Panda, was one Aadhar card.
In Bangalore on Thursday, there had been another gambling arrest carried out by the Central Crime Branch. The arrest took place after police had received information that gambling was taking place in Babu Reddy Layout. Eleven people were arrested on gambling charges, and Rs 71,500 was seized along with other items.
