MS Dhoni, the former Indian cricket team captain, is opening a cricket academy in Dubai. This is his first official cricket academy. MS Dhoni will be spending time giving hands-on training to those who attend the academy. In addition to hands-on training, he will also be the brand ambassador of the new academy.
The academy will be located in the United Arab Emirates at the Dubai Pacific Sports Club. This is the first club of its kind to be opened in Dubai, and is likely to attract quality students. At this time, it appears that the new cricket academy will be called MSDCA, the MS Dhoni Cricket Academy.
Dhoni will be joining the ranks of top cricket players who have similarly reached out to train others with their own academies. Some of the other cricketers who have established their own cricket academies include Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, and Harbhajan Singh.
Dhoni no longer plays Test cricket which means that he will have plenty of time to spend training the best students that the academy attracts. Dhoni is close to the end of his international career, and is clearly getting ready to ensure that he continues to leave his mark and share his talents with the cricket world.

Dhoni may no longer play international Test cricket, however, he will be joining the Indian cricket team in Sri Lanka for the 5-match One Day International (ODI) series. The series begins on Sunday, 20th August in Dambulla.
When playing shorter format cricket, Dhoni, who is 36-years-old, is still the first choice as India’s wicketkeeper. Although he may be the first choice, he needs to remain on top form. MSK Prasad, the Chief Selector noted that the if Dhoni does not deliver, alternatives will have to be looked at.
