After India equalized the Test series with its 75-run win against Australia, the team has been getting ready to play the next match. The third Test cricket match will take place in the Ranchi stadium.
Ranchi is the hometown of the former Indian cricket team’s captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Although MS Dhoni has recently visited the grounds, he is not going to be able to be at Ranchi to watch the third Test between India and Australia on 16th March 2017.
The manager of the Jharkhand cricket team, PN Singh, noted that MS Dhoni is not likely to make it to the match in Ranchi. The Vijay Hazare Trophy is currently underway, and the dates for those who have entered the quarter finals, and potentially the semifinals clash with the Australian – Indian Test dates.
PN Singh explained: “Our team arrived in Delhi and Dhoni is flying in a day later. We have a knockout match against Vidarbha on 15th and a semifinal on the 17th. We are confident of reaching the semifinal in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and hence Dhoni’s presence at the Ranchi stadium is ‘unlikely.’”
Jharkhand beat Jammu and Kashmir in the match in West Bengal on 6th March, taking the team to the quarter finals. The team will be playing the third quarterfinal against Vidarbha in Delhi on 15th March at the Palam A Stadium. The fourth quarter final between Bengal and Maharashtra will take place at the Feroz Shah Kotla on 15th March.
The first semifinal will take place on 16th March between Baroda and Tamil Nadu in the Feroz Shah Kotla. The second semifinal match is set to take place in the Palam A Stadium on 17th March, with the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy set for 19th March at Feroz Shah Kotla.
