IPL 5 has been full of excitement so far, this tournament shows how thrilling cricket in India really is. The Chennai Super Kings thrashed the Mumbai Indians, winning by 38 runs (187 to 149) during the eliminator and are now once more on the path of becoming IPL Champions again. However, they must first deal with the Delhi Daredevils before proceeding to the finals.
The Delhi Daredevils have had an amazing build up to the tournament but during the last few matches have lacked the firepower to go all the way. One of those reasons has been the lack of runs from Virender Sehwag. The Delhi captain has had an exceptional tournament with the bat but has not fired during the last few matches.
If Delhi is to win against the Chennai Super Kings, both Sehwag and Warner must fire at the top of the order. Delhi will once again be relying on its pace attack to run through the Super Kings line up. Their concern will remain the form of Ross Taylor and their lack of quality spinners.
The Chennai Super Kings will have the home advantage as they are playing in Chennai. The pitch will suit the likes of R Ashwin and Jakati who had an exceptional match against the Mumbai Indians.
Captain MS Dhoni was in pristine form against the Mumbai Indians and notched up a 50 in just 20 balls. They have two world class all-rounders in Dwayne Brave and Albie Morkel who can win a game with either bat or ball. Their cause for concern will be the form of Suresh Raina and the waywardness of Ben Hilfenhaus who was mauled by Dwayne Smith.
The team, who wins the toss, will look to bat first and get runs on the board. A total of 150 should be defendable on a slow and placid Chennai wicket. Delhi will have to play out of their skins if they are going to beat the Chennai Super Kings on their home turf with a packed stadium of yellow supporters cheering the home team all the way.
