Sunrisers Hyderabad have beaten the Delhi Daredevils, taking them back to the number one spot in the 2018 IPL. Chennai Super Kings is currently in the second position, having won seven of their 10 games.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad team has won seven out of the nine games they have played. Both teams have 14 points with Sunrisers Hyderabad slightly ahead with their run total.
The Delhi Daredevils have only won three out of the ten games they have played, and are currently in the seventh place.
Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Daredevils
The Delhi Daredevils won the toss, and chose to bat first. The team posted a total of 163/5. Sunrisers Hyderabad caught up and in 19.5 overs, the team reached the 164-run target. The match ended with 164/3, and a seven-wicket win.
Delhi Daredevils saw 95 runs in the first 10 overs, and just 68 in the last 10. Sunrisers Hyderabad had an equal split of 82 runs in each half of the game, taking some pressure off the second half.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad won the Indian Premier League in 2016. Kane Williamson is the team’s skipper, and Tom Moody is the coach. There are a number of excellent players on the team including top T20 bowlers Rashid Khan, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
It is highly likely that Sunrisers Hyderabad will be playing in the playoffs.
The Delhi Daredevils have had a rocky start to the 2018 IPL. After poor performance in the first part of the IPL, the team’s skipper, Gautam Gambhir, stepped down. He was replaced by Shreyas Iyer. The team is coached by Ricky Ponting.
The Daredevils have seen some impressive bowling from Trent Boult. While there are quality players in the team, they appear likely to stay near the bottom of the points table throughout the IPL.
