The ICC Champions Trophy has ended. After a number of excellent games, India made it to the final but ended the tournament in second place. Pakistan won the match by 180 runs. The final score was 338/4 in 50 overs for Pakistan and 158 in 30.3 overs for India.
Despite having lost to its arch-rival, the Indian team acknowledged that Pakistan played well. Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, congratulated the ICC Champions Trophy winners.
Kohli said: “I want to congratulate the Pakistan team and their fans first. I think they had an amazing tournament. They proved they can upset anyone on their day.”
The Indian team captain further commented: “A disappointing day but I have a smile on my face because of the way we played across the tournament. They were more intense and passionate on the day. You can always look at things in hindsight, and sometimes you just have to stand there and admire the way the opposition played. Credit to them, they did well in all three departments. We need to move forward and learn from our mistakes.”
