The 2021 Pakistan Super League (PSL) Championship has played down to the final two teams who will now battle it out for the 2021 PSL Championship on June 24. The final will be contested between Multan Sultans (MS) and Peshawar Zalmi (PES) in Abu Dhabi. Multan Sultans vs. Peshawar Zalmi – Betting Odds
Bet365 has Multan Sultans as the slight betting favorites with odds of 1.72 while Peshawar Zalmi are underdogs with odds of 2.10. The fact that MS is the betting favorites comes as no surprise as they finished in second place on the points table and also booked themselves a place directly in the PSL final after winning qualifier 1 against Islamabad United (IU) who were the betting favorites to win the 2021 PSL Championship.
Multan Sultans have never won a PSL Championship in the history of the competitive because they have failed to make it to the finals so far. This is the first time they have succeeded in getting to the finals and they are determined to go all the way and get their hands on their first ever PSL Championship.
Standing in their way are Peshawar Zalmi who are the 2017 PSL Champions. PEZ have been rather consistent in the PSL having reached the finals on three occasions in the history of the competition. They won in 2017 but finished in second place in 2018 when they lost to Islamabad United and then again in 2019 when they lost to Quetta Gladiators.
PEZ know the heartbreak of coming so close and falling short and they definitely don’t want to do it again in 2021. Will they be able to shake off the nerves of playing in the PSL Championship and get the better of Multan Sultans?

Multan Sultans vs. Peshawar Zalmi – Predictions
The Sultans are in the finals because they beat IU in the playoffs thanks to a great bowling performance. They will once again depend heavily on their bowlers to restrict PEZ to under 160, if PEZ bats first. If MS bats first, they will look to get as many runs on the board and then depend on their bowlers to defend that total.
MS is quite capable of defending low scores as S Tanvir, Imran Khan and Imran Tahir do well under pressure. The biggest weakness for MS is their batting order which can blow hot and cold. The likes of Shan Masood, Sohaib Maqsood and Rilee Rossouw need to do well if the Sultans are going to win.
PEZ are in the finals because they defeated the Karachi Kings and won with just 1 ball to spare. H Zazai made 77 in what turned out to be a match winning innings but did not get a lot of support from the rest of the batsman. If PEZ wants to win the PSL Championship, they cannot afford to depend only on Zazai or S Malik.
PEZ also has a great bowling attack which features captain W Riaz, M Irfan and M Imran. If they can put in one more good performance, they should end up on the winning side.
