Our first horse racing preview of November takes us to Hyderabad, where they have a busy day planned this Sunday. Punters can look forward to 7 races in total here, involving horses of all age groups and ratings. So, get ready for our tips from this Hyderabad preview.
As usual, we will try to focus on the best races of the day, both in terms of experience and excitement. With that in mind, we will be taking a closer look at a maiden race aimed at two-year-olds, and a class 3 event with a rating ceiling of 65.
Our Hyderabad Preview for November 3rd
The Beginners Plate
This aptly-named race will involve 2-year-old colts and fillies from Hyderabad. The second race of the day, it has a scheduled starting time of 02:30 PM. The distance has been kept quite short at 1100m. There are 8 contenders on the race card, but only two of them are colts. With a total purse of INR 8,83,800 (approx 9658 GBP), this is the biggest race of the day in terms of prize money.
As all these young ones are having their first race tomorrow, we only have their bloodlines to base our betting predictions on. Here are the top three in our books:
Bulls Ace
This bay filly comes from the stables of trainer KSV Prasad Raju. Her father is the formidable stallion Air Support, with dam Apparition as her mother. The experienced jockey N Rawal will ride her on Sunday.
Queen Daenerys
This bay filly is the second contender on the race card with Saamidd (GB) as her father. Trained by Arjun Anne, the daughter of dam For Sure will be closely watched in this race. She will be ridden by jockey Kuldeep Singh.
Aintree
Sired by Green Coast off dam Coco Chanel, Aintree is a bay filly with a lot of promise. Her trainer is LD Silva. The unrated maiden horse will have jockey Ajith Singh in the saddle for Sunday’s race.
Our Picks
For us, it is Bulls Ace as the one to win it if the odds makers start listing at 5/1 or longer odds, with Aintree the likely challenger. Queen Daenerys might be worth a punt as the long-shot pick.
The Deccan Star Plate
Immediately after the Beginner’s Plate, we have this Deccan Star Plate at 3:00 PM. This one is a Class 3 event, open to horses with a rating between 40 and 65. While that is far from the best out there, it is still the race with the strongest field of contenders this Sunday at Hyderabad. The distance of this race has been set at 1200m. We have a long list of horses for this one, with 9 having been signed up.
After looking at all those horses, we have chosen these three:
Vijays Singham
The son of Leitir Mor and Zarandja is a three-year-old colt in fine form these days. In the first three races of his career, he has finished 1-2-1 so far. Trained by Laxman Singh, there is no doubt that this bay colt will be a firm favorite for this race. He has a rating of 54 and will be piloted by Robbie Downey on Sunday.
Sitara
Providing a stern test to Singham will be this filly from the stables of LVR Deshmukh. Sired by Arazan, she has completed 5 races so far, with a very impressive record of 1-1-2-2-5. With Neeraj Rawal in the saddle, she will be expecting to get back to winning ways. She too has a top rating of 54.
Royal Dynamite
This 6-year-old grey gelding is a seasoned campaigner, with 44 runs under his belt. Out of these, he has 4 wins, and another 18 finishes in the top four. Trained by Ravinder Singh, his last win was more than a year ago in 2018. Ajit Singh will be his jockey for this race.
Our Picks
It is a close contest between Vijay Singham and Sitara in our books, with the colt getting our vote ahead of Sitara if the bookmakers begin listing at 5/1 odds or longer. Given his vast experience, Royal Dynamite is a somewhat safe pick for a long-shot win.
