England showed why they are the ICC ODI World Champions by putting in a fantastic performance in the second ODI on March 26. England were 1-0 down in the three match series and needed to win the second ODI to keep the series alive.
India was asked to bat first again and they did a good job with the bat scoring 336 and making it difficult for England to win. However, England cruised to victory in with 39 balls to spare as some phenomenal batting from the England top order and some bizarre captaincy by Virat Kohli helped England level the series 1-1.
If you are looking to bet on the third and final ODI, then you can do so at any of the following sites listed below.
India Still Favorites To Win
Bet365 currently has India as the favorites to win the third ODI and the series. India goes in with odds of 1.72 while England are the underdogs yet again with odds of 2.10. Apart from betting on the outright result, do note that there are a number of side bets that you can place before the third ODI starts. You can also engage in in-play betting or live betting during the third ODI.
Some of the popular side bets for the third ODI include highest opening partnership, most match fours, most match sixes, player of the match, top team bowler and top team batsman.
What India Must Do To Win
India’s batting department has looked good in both innings and they don’t need to make any changes to the top order even with the absence of Shreyas Iyer. What they can do is work with head coach Ravi Shastri and figure out a better plan on when to pull the trigger and increase the scoring rate when they have wickets in hands.
India could have probably got another 30 to 40 runs more in the second ODI, if they decided to turn on the pressure a little earlier, especially with wickets in hand. The one area that India must work upon is the bowling department.
Kohli’s decision to not bowl H Pandya in the second ODI was baffling. The Indian captain explained his decision by saying the team wanted to preserve H Pandya and not overwork him. A very strange decision, given the fact that K Pandya and K Yadav were being hit to all parts of the ground, the game could have changed with a few overs from H Pandya.
Kuldeep Yadav has not delivered in both ODIs. He sent down 9 overs in the first ODI and conceded 68 runs and conceded 84 runs in his quota of 10 overs in the second ODI. Given the fact that K Pandya is not a front line spinner, India needs to replace K Yadav for the third ODI. They have a choice between W Sundar and Y Chahal.
What England Must Do To Win
England did very well in the second ODI after losing their skipper Eoin Morgan. Jos Butler never made any runs with the bat but he did a good job with the captaincy and will be keen on winning the third ODI and finishing this long tour of India with a ODI series win.
England don’t need to make any changes with their batting as their batsmen are doing well. They might want to make one change to their bowling department. T Curran has been expensive and they might want to rest him for the third ODI and replace him with M Wood. However, England may choose to keep their winning side intact and see if they can use their momentum to win again.
Verdict: We believe India will get the win in the third ODI provided they use our cricket betting tips and replace K Yadav.
