We are taking a look at all eight IPL franchises and their betting odds to win the 2021 IPL. IPL fans don’t have to wait much longer as the 2021 IPL will start on April 9 and will give fan non- stop action that will culminate with the IPL final taking place on May 30.
Indian fans will have to be content with watching all of the IPL action on their television screens and online as the BCCI is not permitting fans in stadiums during the round robin games. If you are looking to bet on the 2021 IPL, you can do so at any of the following sportsbooks listed below.
We have already covered the betting odds and shared our predictions in different articles on the Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings chances to win IPL 2021 and another article on Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals chances. We will now look at the betting odds for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Will this be the year that RCB finally break their IPL jinx and go on to win their first IPL trophy? RCB have fielded some talented sides over the last 10 years but have never won the IPL trophy. Bet365 believes that 2021 can be RCB’s year as they have given them odds of 7.00 and ranked them in the top three favorites to win the IPL. They are only behind defending champions Mumbai Indians and 2021 IPL runner-ups Delhi Capitals.
RCB have better betting odds this season based on their performance in the 2020 IPL when they finished in fourth place. Virat Kohli will once again captain RCB and rely on AB Devilliers to be the mainstay of the RCB batting line-up.
RCB spent big money in the IPL auction to secure the services of Glenn Maxwell and Kiwi fast bowler Kyle Jamieson. They certainly have a talent packed side but the big question is whether they can perform collectively as a unit under Kohli’s captaincy.
Glenn Maxwell has not delivered in the IPL for a long time but can Kohli bring out the best in the Big Show? These are important questions that need to be answered. If Kohli can do what A Rahane did with the Indian team in Australia and inspire them, RCB could end up with their first IPL championship.
Our experts believe that RCB will make it to the playoffs again but once again fall short.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have been a threat in the IPL under the captaincy of David Warner and have gone on to win the IPL trophy thrice. They finished in third place in IPL 2020 but most sportsbooks don’t think SRH will win in 2021.
SRH have betting odds of 7.50 which put them in the top four teams that are expected to make the playoffs. One of the reasons for the hesitancy to back SRH is based on the fitness of David Warner. Warner has missed a lot of games for Australia and has been on the sidelines due to injury.
Warner is an integral part for SRH as he is their best batsman and their captain. As of now, it looks like Warner is getting ready to play as he has flown to India to be a part of the camp. SRH will need to get its key players to make big contributions if they are going to win IPL 2021.
SRH did not make big changes to their squad during the 2021 IPL and hence expect to see a pretty similar playing XI to the 2020 IPL. Our experts believe that SRH will find it difficult to make the playoffs this season.
