Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier III – Betting Odds
The UFC generally fixes a championship fight to headline a pay per view card. However, there is no championship fight taking place at UFC 264. Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier III will be a 5 round Main Event and the winner of this fight will likely get a title shot at the UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira who will be at the T-Mobile stadium for this fight.
When McGregor fought Poirier the first time, he got under his skin and ended up stopping Poirier. McGregor was very respectful and friendly during the second fight but ended up getting stopped in Jan 2021. Conor immediately called for a trilogy and Dustin Poirier was happy to oblige.
Bet365 has Poirier as a slight favorite going into this fight with odds of 1.80 while McGregor has odds of 2.0. McGregor could not stop Poirier’s calf kicks in the second fight but has made adjustments to his fighting style and is confident that he will finish this fight. We think Conor has a great chance of winning this fight in the first couple of rounds.
This is because McGregor’s cardio starts to dip as the fight goes past the second round and Poirier will clearly have an advantage. We are going to back McGregor to win this fight and go on to challenge Charles Oliveira for the UFC lightweight championship.
Gilbert Burns vs. Stephen Thompson – Betting Odds
The co-Main event will feature a welterweight bout between former number one contender Gilbert Burns and Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson. This is going to be an interesting fight as Burns is one of the best BJJ specialists in the welterweight division while Wonderboy is one of the best strikers at welterweight.
The odds makers have Wonderboy as the favorite going into this fight with odds of 1.57 while Burns is the underdog with odds of 2.50. We think if Wonderboy can keep this fight on the feet, he will end up with a win as he is smart fighter and will look to win either by KO or by decision. Burns will have a better chance of winning, if he can take Wonderboy down and look to submit him.
We are going to back Wonderboy to come out on the winning side.
Greg Hardy Jr. vs. Tai Tuivasa – Betting Odds
This heavyweight scrap has the potential to cause massive fireworks in the Octagon as both fighters like to stand and bang. There is a bit of heat between the two as words were exchanged in the past and Hardy is keen on silencing the Australian fighter who has been working on his ground game by training with Daniel Cormier at AKA in California.
Hardy has odds of 2.10 while Tuivasa is the favorite with odds of 1.72. We think that Hardy might upset Tuivasa and come off with a win
Niko Price vs. Michel Pereira – Betting Odds
This fight is scheduled for the prelims but is a must watch fight as both fighters love to throw down. Price is the underdog with odds of 2.30 while Pereira is the favorite with odds of 1.62. We are going to back Price to win this scrap.
