IND vs AUS ODI Series Prediction & Odds – Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 Preview
One of the most keenly contested matchups in world cricket is India vs Australia. The top teams in cricket will meet once again in a four-match series in Feb-March to decide the finalists of the World Test Championship later in 2023.
It has been 19 years since Australia won its last Test series on Indian soil. In fact, Australia’s test series wins in India have been few and far between with just one series win in the last 53 years, that too coming 19 years ago in 2004.
This is the reason why a test series win in India is considered the Final Frontier or ‘Mission Impossible’. In this article, we have listed down the IND vs AUS test series odds along with an analysis of the odds. We also give our India vs Australia test series prediction at the end.
India won the Border Gavaskar test series 2-1 while Australia won the ODI series 2-1.

Along with the outright series win, there are also odds to predict the correct scoreline at the completion of the 4-match Test series.
Series Result | Odds On Parimatch |
India 2-1 | 4.50 |
India 3-1 | 6.00 |
Australia 2-1 | 7.00 |
Draw 2-2 | 7.00 |
India 3-0 | 8.50 |
India 4-0 | 9.00 |

Australia 3-1 | 12.00 |
India 2-0 | 13.00 |
Australia have lost just one Test match in the last two years, having won the Ashes at home, winning a 3-Test series in Pakistan 1-0, drawing the series in Sri Lanka 1-1 before whitewashing the West Indies and South Africa 2-0 and 3-0, respectively.
Conversely, India are coming on the back of playing more limited-overs cricket than Tests in the last couple of years. Rohit Sharma’s men have lost 3 Tests since their loss in the final of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship in 2021 before winning home series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka and winning 2-0 in Bangladesh.
The four tests are being played on extremely sporty tracks of Nagpur, Delhi, Dharamsala, and Ahmedabad. Here the Indian bowlers are bound to get a better purchase from the surfaces as compared to the Australian attack that lacks variety.
We don’t think any of the four test matches will end up in a draw. Since Australia can never be ruled out, we expect them to win one of the tests. But we are backing India to dominate the rest of the series and predict the scoreline to be 3-1 in India’s favor.
Recommended Betting Tip: India 3-1 (6.00)
The ‘No Rishabh Pant’ factor in India vs Australia Test sERIES
Perhaps the biggest blow to India and their chances of doing exceedingly well in this series against Australia is the absence of star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant.
The swashbuckling left-hander is out recuperating from injuries suffered during a car crash in December 2022. Pant has been India’s most prolific batsman in Test cricket in the last two years.
He has an excellent knack for finding the boundaries when the bowlers are trying to apply the brakes, thus resulting in putting the bowling attack under pressure.
His record against Australia is enviable with 624 runs in 7 Tests at an average of 62.40, which is his highest against any side.
As a keeper, Pant has been vital in helping Rohit take important DRS decisions on the field. While this gives chance to KS Bharat or Ishan Kishan to make a mark in Test cricket, it will be hard to replicate what Pant has achieved for India of late in the longest format of the game.
