The last week saw intense competition among teams vying for a place in IPL 13 Qualifiers. However, only Mumbai Indians have sealed their spot in the Qualifiers. As things stand, four teams are in the fray for three other places in the play-off round. But if Hyderabad loses their match against Mumbai on Tuesday, Bangalore, Delhi and Kolkata will be through to Qualifiers. In this article, we have done IPL 2020 review of the past week’s matches.

One spot will go to the winner of the match between Delhi and Bangalore on Monday. Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings are out from IPL 2020 as they have 12 points each. Bangalore, Delhi and Kolkata have 14 points apiece.

We will go through the performance of all eight teams in the last week that went by.

KXIP, RR, and CSK out from IPL 2020

During this high-octane week, Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals crashed out from IPL 2020 despite some amazing efforts. Chennai Super Kings won their last three games but it came too late for MS Dhoni’s men.

With so many exciting matches keeping the spirit of the tournament alive, IPL satta market is also abuzz with lots of interesting bets.

The tournament has had a record number of viewers this time around primarily because the Indian audience was starved of cricket betting action for many months. The IPL betting markets have been highly volatile and the matches go down to the wire.

Mumbai Indians – IPL 2020 review

Mumbai became the first team to qualify for Qualifiers on Thursday when Chennai beat Kolkata in the last-ball encounter. Chennai’s win meant Mumbai wouldn’t finish beyond fourth position in the points table. Mumbai won both their matches — against Bangalore and Delhi — during the week and have 18 points.

Devdutt Padikkal (74 off 45) and Josh Philippe (33 off 24) provided Bangalore with a good start. But Bumrah (3/14) bowled brilliantly to help the team restrict Bangalore to 164/6. Suryakumar Yadav (79 off 43) made sure Mumbai chased down the target with five wickets in hand.

Bumrah (3/17) and Trent Boult’s (3/21) limited Delhi to 110/9. Ishan Kishan (72* off 47) made the light work of Delhi’s total for a nine-wicket win.

Bumrah is the top bowler in IPL 13, with 23 wickets in 13 matches. De Kock is Mumbai’s top batsman with 418 runs in 13 matches.

Delhi Capitals – IPL 2020 review

Delhi were at the top of table at one point before losing four matches on the trot. They were no match to Hyderabad and Mumbai during their matches last week. Delhi can make Qualifiers with a win over Bangalore. However, a loss will force Delhi to think that Hyderabad too lose against Mumbai. It will not be enough as in that case also, Delhi’s NRR should be better than Kolkata.

However, Delhi must be worried over batting and bowling collapses during matches last week. They lost to Hyderabad by 88 runs. Their batsmen were gasping for breath against Mumbai’s Bumrah and Boult. Delhi scored a poor 109/9. Mumbai chased down the target with the loss of just one wicket.

Delhi’s batsman Shikhar Dhawan (471 runs in 13 matches) couldn’t open his account in both the matches. Kagiso Rabada is second in bowlers’ list with 23 wickets in 13 matches.

Kolkata Knight Riders – IPL 2020 review

Kolkata registered a much-needed victory in their last league match against Rajasthan. A 60-run win kept Kolkata afloat in the race to Qualifiers. However, their qualification will depend on the Hyderabad-Mumbai match result. If Hyderabad win, Kolkata will qualify only when their NRR is better than the loser of the Delhi-Bangalore match.

During the week, they lost matches to Punjab (by 8 wickets) and Chennai (by 6 wickets). But turned their fortunes around against Rajasthan. Eoin Morgan (68 off 35), Rahul Tripathi (39 off 34), Shubhnam Gill (36 off 24), and Andre Russel (25 off 11) guided the team to 191/7. Pat Cummins (4/34), Shivam Mavi (2/15) and Varun Chakravarthy (2/20) made Rajasthan batting line-up crumble.

Gill (440 runs in 14 matches) is Kolkata’s best batsman.

Royal Challengers Bangalore – IPL 2020 review

Bangalore lost both their matches in the week gone by, but they are still grabbing the second spot. If they defeat Delhi in Abu Dhabi on Monday, Bangalore will be the second team to qualify for Qualifiers. If they get beaten, they have to expect Hyderabad to lose their match against Mumbai. In that case also, Bangalore’s NRR should be better than Kolkata.

In their match against Mumbai, a middle-order collapse forced Bangalore to restrict to 164/6. Their starry batting line-up failed against Hyderabad as they could hardly manage 120/7.

Kohli (431 runs in 13 matches) and Padikkal (422 runs in 13 matches) are Bangalore’s top batsmen. Chahal (20 wickets in 13 matches) is the third highest wicket-taker in the overall list.

Sunrisers Hyderabad – IPL 2020 review

Hyderabad registered the much-required victory over Delhi and Bangalore over the weekend to keep them alive in the Qualifiers race. They have 12 points, but they have the best NRR (+0.555) after Mumbai (+1.296) in the tournament. If they beat Mumbai, Hyderabad will certainly get a spot in the play-off round. A defeat will see Hyderabad crashing out of IPL 13.

During their match against Delhi, Wriddhiman Saha (87 off 45), David Warner (66 off 34) and Manish Pandey (44* off 31) helped Hyderabad post 219/2. Rashid (3/7), Sandeep (2/27) and Natarajan (2/26) bowled out Delhi cheaply. Hyderabad eased past Bangalore for a 5-wicket win.

Warner (444 runs in 13 matches) is Hyderabad’s top batsman. Rashid (18 wickets in 13 matches) is their highest wicket-taker.

Rajasthan Royals – IPL 2020 review

A loss to Kolkata on Sunday ended Rajasthan’s run. Earlier, they had demolished Mumbai by 8 wickets, courtesy Ben Stokes (107* off 60) and Sanju Samson (54* off 31). They were effective against Punjab in a 7-wicket win. But chasing 192 against Kolkata, their top-order collapsed.

Rajasthan’s Jofra Archer (20 wickets in 14 matches) impressed with his bowling.

Chennai Super Kings – IPL 2020 review

A 9-wicket win over Punjab, 6-wicket win over Kolkata and 8-wicket win over Bangalore in their last three matches, is a brand of cricket Chennai are known for. But it came little too late as they are already out of the IPL 2020.

Kings XI Punjab – IPL 2020 review

Punjab reignited Qualifiers hopes with five back-to-back wins. But their campaign ended with a humiliating nine-wicket loss to Chennai on Sunday. Punjab beat Kolkata by 8 wickets, but lost to Rajasthan by 7 wickets in their other matches during the week.

Their opener KL Rahul (670 runs in 14 matches) is the leading run-scorer in the tournament.
