The Rajasthan Royals pulled off a fantastic win against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on 2nd May which helped them to move up to 5th spot on the IPL points table. The Royals will face a much bigger challenge on May 5 in Delhi when they take on the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
While the Royals are coming off a win in their last game, CSK is coming off a loss against defending champs Mumbai Indians. CSK should have won that game as they outplayed the Mumbai Indians for most of the game but a spectacular knock by Kieron Pollard and some baffling decisions by MS Dhoni cost CSK.

CSK – Keys To Victory
CSK have stuck to a tried and tested formula and that is to back their players and not worry about the losses. Don’t expect CSK to make any major changes to their playing XI even though a change in the bowling department will be welcomed by the fans. S Thakur and L Ngidi were very expensive against Mumbai and CSK should think about replacing one of them.
Faf du Plessis has had a good series for CSK and will continue to be a danger at the top of the order. M Ali and A Rayudu have shown that they can make quick runs when it matters and MS Dhoni will be depending on both of them to fire as Suresh Raina has not had a good run with the bat in this IPL.

The Royals won their last game against SRH because J Butler played a marvellous innings at the top of the order. Butler scored a brilliant century that took the game away from SRH. The problem for the Royals is that they cannot rely on individual brilliance to win them games. They need to click and fire as a unit if they are going to be a serious and consistent threat to the rest of the IPL teams.
J Butler is the man to watch out for as he will want to keep his form going. S Samson has also looked good with the bat and knows that if the Royals can get a few more wins going, they can make a strong push to be in the playoffs.
C Morris and M Rahman were the pick of the bowlers against SRH as they bowled economically and took 3 wickets each. The Royals will have keep getting wickets against CSK and not let them get any partnership going. If the Royals bowl first, they should try and restrict CSK to below 170, as it will give them a decent chance at winning.
Verdict
CSK has played better cricket throughout the tournament and once again look like contenders to win the 2021 IPL. We agree with the bookmakers and believe that CSK should be able to beat the Royals and get another 2 points on the table.
