IPL fans will be able to enjoy this weekend as there are a number of exciting games scheduled. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday, April 11 in what should be a highly entertaining game as both sides are pretty evenly matched on paper.
If you are looking to bet on this game or any of the 2021 IPL games, you can do via online IPL betting as well as IPL mobile betting. We give you a list of the top sportsbooks that are accepting IPL bets in 2021.
At the time of this writing, Bet365 has both sides with even odds of 1.90 which makes it anybody’s game. However, our cricket experts’ break down the strength and weaknesses of each team and share their predictions as which team they think will win on Sunday.
What SRH Must Do To Win
SRH have been rather consistent in their IPL performances during the last few seasons and have made it to the playoffs every year since 2016. The heartbeat of SRH is their dynamic captain David Warner who not only leads on the field but also with the bat. It is no secret that when Warner does well, SRH also does well.
Warner will once again be a key weapon for SRH against KKR but the big question is how fit and ready to play is David Warner? He missed a lot of games for Australia due to a groin injury but appears to be ready to lead SRH in battle.
SRH made a couple of key buys during the IPL auction which they expect will further strengthen their squad. They bought Mujeeb Ur Rahman who is a specialist T20 bowler and also Kedar Jadhav who failed when he played for CSK.
SRH coach Tom Moody and David Warner need to make important decisions regarding their four overseas picks. We believe the key players for SRH apart from their captain are J Bairstow, B Kumar, R Khan and T Natarajan.
What KKR Must Do To Win
KKR has a very talented side on paper but they struggled to click during the last couple of seasons under the leadership of D Karthick. He stepped down during the 2020 IPL and England T20 captain Eoin Morgan took over. Morgan will look to stamp his brand of authority and leadership on KKR during the 2021 IPL and his first task will be to beat SRH.
KKR has a rather similar look of overseas players with the exception of Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. KKR will need him to fire along with Andre Russell if they are going to be a serious contender to win the 2021 IPL trophy.
We believe that for KKR to win against SRH, they need to get their domestic players to contribute. The domestic players to watch out for KKR include the talented S Gill, P Krishna and Varun Chakravarthy.
The other big challenge for KKR and Eoin Morgan is to quickly establish the batting order. The experiment of using S Narine as an opener has not worked very well for KKR and our experts think that they leave out Narine for a few games and try out other players.
We will have to wait and see if KKR stick to the old strategy or if they are willing to experiment from Game 1.
Our Experts Predict
SRH should be able to win this first game as they look a more balanced side on paper. If KKR experiments with their new players and bring in a new batting order, they have a much better chance to win. For now, we would put our money on SRH.
