The biggest disappointment in the 2021 IPL without a doubt has been the performance of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Going into the IPL, they were amongst the top three teams that were expected to win the IPL Championship. SRH have done well under the captaincy of David Warner and cricket pundits expected them to have another good run this year.
However after 7 games in the IPL, SRH sit at the bottom of the points table having won just one game out of the seven. This terrible run cost David Warner both the captaincy and his spot in the side as SRH wanted to send a strong message to the rest of the team. Kane Williamson captain SRH in their last game against the Rajasthan Royals which they also ended up losing.
Defending champions the Mumbai Indians had a great win over CSK in their last outing winning at the death thanks to a great knock by Kieron Pollard. Mumbai have not played very well so far and is currently ranked in fourth place on the points table. They know that they have a great chance of beating a deflated SRH and are rightly the betting favorites with odds of 1.53 while SRH are the underdogs with odds of 2.50.

SRH – Keys To Victory
Kane Williamson needs to lead from the front to pull SRH out of the quicksand and get them to believe that they can still bounce back and make the playoffs. That is going to take a lot of effort but if anyone can do it, Williamson can. He will have to lead with the bat and rely on the support of Jonny Bairstow and B Kumar.
Our experts personally think that the best chance for SRH to win is to get David Warner back in the side as a batsman. Warner will be hurting and a hurt Warner is going to be a very dangerous proposition.
One of the reasons why SRH has suffered this season is because their domestic players have not fired. M Pandey, V Shankar and K Jadhav need to do more to ease the pressure of Williamson.

Mumbai Indians know that they have a great chance to crush SRH as they are short on confidence and are not in a good frame of mind due to the internal issues in the squad. This is a great opportunity for Rohit Sharma and his team to find form and start firing against as a collective unit which is what has made Mumbai Indians so dangerous in past IPL seasons.
They cannot rely on individual brilliance to win games as that robs them off their consistency. Quinton de Kock and R Sharma both need a big knock and they also need their I Kishan and S Yadav to start playing big runs again.
The bowling department has done well for Mumbai and the bowlers should have an easier outing against SRH. T Boult and J Bumrah will be the bowlers that you need to watch out for.
Verdict
We are going to agree with the bookmakers on this one and back the Mumbai Indians to win comfortably. We do expect SRH to put up a good fight but without David Warner in the side, it is difficult for SRH to beat the Mumbai Indians. If Warner does get selected as a batsman for this game, we expect it to be a much more competitive game but still think Mumbai Indians will win.
