Will Shaw be fit enough to play against the Royals? Delhi Capitals also needs to make a few changes to their squad and experiment with their batting and bowling depth. We think they should bring in Tim Seifert and L Ngidi to strengthen their batting and bowling against RR.

S Hetmyer’s Absence

The Royals have also done well because of their opening combination of J Butler and Y Jaiswal but when the openers have failed, they have found a match-winner in S Hetmyer. The Royals are going to miss Hetmyer for a few games as the West Indian has decided to fly home to be present for the birth of his child.

Hetmyer has promised to return quickly but he will miss the game against DC and it should weaken their batting and make it a bit easier for DC this time around.

RR has experimented with their batting order and it has worked for them. DC on the other hand need to be willing to change up their batting combinations and not be too rigid. If P Shaw is not fit to play against RR, we think Tim Seifert should be selected and promoted to open with Warner.

R Pant should take on more responsibility as the captain and bat at 3 while Marsh at 4, R Powell at 5, and S Thakur at 6. This batting combination gives DC their best chance of winning.
