Adesanya vs. Vettori – 2
UFC middleweight champ Israel ‘The Last Stylebender’ Adesanya will defend his belt against the Italian Dream Marvin Vettori. These two fighters did battle at the Gila River Arena in April 2018 when both fighters were looking to make a name for themselves in the middleweight division. The first fight was a three round contest that ended in a split decision which went in favour of Israel Adesanya.
There are some fans who believe that the decision could have also gone to Vettori as the fight was really close. Stylebender has promised to not let the second fight go to the judges and is confident that he will put Vettori away. Bet365 has Adesanya as the betting favorite at 1.40 while Vettori is the underdog with odds of 3.00.
Expect this fight to be a tough one as both these fighters don’t like each other and things have gotten personal in the lead up to this fight. While Adesanya is one of the best strikers in the UFC, his ground game isn’t the best and it showed in his last fight when he moved up to lightheavyweight to challenge Jan Blachowicz and lost after being dominated on the ground.
Vettori is a wrestler and will look to deploy a similar strategy as Blachowicz and take Adesanya. If Adesanya can stop the takedown and keep it on the feet, he will have the advantage and win the fight. However, if Vettori can take him down and keep him down, he should be the first Italian champ in UFC history. We are going to put our money on Vettori to win.
Figueiredo vs. Moreno – 2
UFC flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo will defend his belt against the Mexican Brandon Moreno. This is also their second fight as their first one was back in December 2020 and it ended up in a draw. This turned out to be one of the best fights in 2020 and just ended up missing out on the Fight of the Year award.
The champ has promised to take out Moreno and not let it get to the judges. Figueiredo goes in as the betting favorite with odds of 1.44 while Moreno is the underdog with odds of 2.87. Figueiredo is arguably the heaviest hitter in the flyweight division but Moreno showed that he can not only take Figueiredo’s best shots but give it back in return.
Figueiredo definitely has the advantage going into this fight. The only way for Moreno to win is to come up with a better strategy and look to secure more takedowns and dominate Figueiredo on the ground. We are going to put our money on Figueiredo.
Diaz vs. Edwards
Edwards is a huge betting favorite at 1.18 and Diaz has odds of 5.0. However, don’t write off Diaz as the 5 round fight should work in his advantage. However, given the fact that Diaz tends to bleed easily, we are going to put our money on Edwards as if Diaz starts bleeding, the fight can get called off and we think it might.
