The AIFFF has schedule one football game per day and will use multiple stadiums in Goal. All ISL games will take place at 19:30 IST. Favorite Teams To Win
The favorites to win the ISL 2020-2021 season include defending champions ATK Mohun Bagan FC, the home squad FC Goa, 2018 winners Bengaluru FC and 2017 winners Chennaiyin FC. We take a quick look at these squads and see what advantages they bring to the upcoming ISL season.
ATK Mohun Bagan FC: are the defending champions and will rely on their coach Antonio Habas to put together a winner strategy that helps them win their third ISL Championship. They have a great squad on paper as they are both strong in offense and defense. Roy Krishna had a great season last year for ATK and if he can replicate that form this season, ATK are going to be hard to beat.
FC Goa: will definitely have the home advantage but will that be good enough for them to go all the way. The team has a new coach in Juan Ferrando and a lot of new faces including an exciting new signing in midfielder Ishan Pandita. If FC Goa clicks quickly, things will fall into place and they will definitely be a big threat to the rest of the teams. However, if the new team fails to gel, they could struggle. Their best player is Edu Bedia, so keep a close watch on him.
Bengaluru FC: are always going to be a threat with Sunil Chhetri in their squad. The 36 year old Chhetri is still the best Indian footballer in the world and Bengaluru FC will play around him. Their coach Carles Cuadrat is known for his tactical defense but he will have to work hard to get his players to be a bit more attacking. Their latest signing is Kristian Opseth who will have to work with Chhetri to score goals.
Chennaiyin FC: has retained their core side and will look to put in another consistent performance this season. Their head coach Csaba Laszlo has a good record but he hasn’t won any trophies. He will be looking to change that this season and will depend heavily on midfielder Anirudh Thapa and new signing Jakub Sylvestr.
