SET TO WIN – Multidimensional(IRE)-Set Aside
Last 5 runs: 4 – 11 – 6 – 3 – 2
The 8-year-old bay gelding is undoubtedly the most experienced in the race with 4 wins, five second places, and six third places to its credit. In its last two outings, the gelding finished third in the Uttara Kannada Plate over 1600m and then followed it up with a second place in the Parfait Amour Trophy over 1800m on the same Bangalore track.
Trained by Sharat Kumar, jockey R N Darshan will be in the saddle.
RULING GODDESS – Excellent Art(GB)-Miss Mystique
Last 5 runs: 2 – 3 – 3 – 2
The 4-year-old bay filly comes from an excellent bloodline having been sired by Excellent Art(GB) who has produced several winners. The filly seems to be a stayer after having most recently finished second in The Golconda Oaks (Gr.2) over 2400m.
Previously, she finished third in The Golconda 1000 Guineas (Gr.2) at the end of November last year. The filly has the ability to fight to the finish. From the stables of S S Attaollahi, the filly will be saddled by jockey Akshay Kumar.
TACTICAL COMMAND – One Lucky Dane(USA)-Vijaysheel
Last 5 runs: 3 – 2 – 1 – 4 – 1
The 4-year-old bay gelding is likely to be among the favourites after having recently won The Shivaganga Falls Plate Div-1 last week over 1200m. However, it shouldn’t have a problem travelling the extra 400m this time around.
Trained by Prasanna Kumar, jockey Antony Raj will be in control of the reins.
PEYO – Be Safe-Linette(GER)
Last 5 runs: 7 – 1 – 1
This will be the 4-year-old bay gelding’s fourth outing in its racing career. Peyo already seems to be a champion at 1400m having tasted victory in its last two successive outings in The Nagarjuna Sagar Plate Div-1 and The Valley of Flowers Plate Div-1 respectively.
This is one horse that could become the punter’s favourite early on. Peyo is from the stables of S Narredu and will be steered down the track by experienced jockey Suraj Narredu.
SOUTHERN DYNASTY – Multidimensional(IRE)-Set Aside
Last 5 runs: 8 – 3 – 3 – 10 – 5
The 4-year-old bay gelding doesn’t seem to have an impressive record in its last five outings. However, it must be noted that Southern Dynasty finished third over 1600m in The Bangalore 2000 Guineas (Gr.2) last December.
The gelding is trained by S Ganapathy and will have Bhawani Singh in control of the reins.
TOWERING PRESENCE – Multidimensional(IRE)-Tarnished Lady(USA)
Last 5 runs: 3 – 4 – 4 – 6 – 4
The 5-year-old bay horse will be on the track for the eighth time and will be looking for its first win. However, he hasn’t been successful over 1600m and will certainly have a task on hand.
Trained by S S Attaollahi, the horse will be ridden by jockey Shreyas Singh.
ALMANACH – Planetaire(GB)-Shanley(UAE)
Last 5 runs: 2 – 1 – 1 – 3 – 2
The 5-year-old bay gelding has tasted success over 1600m in the Dabbe Falls Plate at the end of November last year. Almanach was most recently placed second in The Hampi Plate in mid-February this year.
From the stables of K Pradeep Annaiah, Almanach will have champion jockey P Trevor in the saddle.
ETOSHA – Phoenix Tower(USA)-Namibia(GER)
Last 5 runs: 5 – 1 – 5
The 4-year-old bay colt will be running his fourth race and did manage to conquer 1200m in The Tetrarch Plate at the end of November last year.
