Serie A Betting Tips & Popular Betting Markets
You need to remember the golden rule to successful betting, whether that’s Serie A betting or anything else, is to always bet based on betting value.
That means betting at odds that are favorable to you in light of the mathematical chances of something happening as opposed to betting simply on what you think is going to happen.
Serie A betting had perhaps become a bit dull on the winner market for that period where Juventus weren’t giving anyone else a chance.
But that’s where the 2020-21 season was so important. There was a huge shift from Juve dominance to a well-deserved Inter Milan win.
Remember you can do Serie A betting with Bitcoin at most of the major betting sites in India. That is of course, in addition to all the other more traditional depositing methods using Indian Rupees and more normal currencies you can play in.
Betting On 2021-22 Serie A Top Goalscorer
This is one of those Serie A betting markets that can be rewarding if you manage to get it right.
In the last eight seasons, the only players to have won it more than once were: Fabio Quagliarella who won it in 2013-14, then tied with Mauro Icardi in 2017-18 before winning it outright again in 2019-20.
Mauro Icardi himself, who twice tied for it: in 2014-15 and 2017-18.
In that period all of Luca Toni, Gonzalo Higuain, Edin Dzeko, Quagliarella, and as we’ve seen already, Cristiano Ronaldo, also either won it outright or tied for the same number of goals.
So, as we say, this is one of Serie A’s most open betting markets. Pick a player with a good scoring record playing at a team who generally gets quite a few goals.
Serie A Betting: Match markets
When it comes to betting on individual matches, the offering is the same. That means that on any given game, you could be looking at a selection of well over 100 different betting markets.
We’ll go through the main ones in due course. But here’s a selection of the best: match odds, over/under 3.5 goals, both teams to score, double chance, clean sheet, Asian handicap, anytime scorer, first goalscorer, correct score, half time/full time, corners betting, number of cards and whether there will be a sending off in the game.
Over/Under 2.5 Goals
Back in the 80s and 90s, Serie A had a reputation for being the most defensive league in just about the world. The scoreline of 0-0 was extremely common, 1-0 was the standard home win and 2-1 was considered just about a goal-fest.
But things have certainly changed now. Here’s the percentage of matches in the 2020-21 season that went over 2.5 goals for the following teams. Atalanta (68%), Crotone (71%), Parma (68.4%) and Roma (63.2%).
So, for quite a few Serie A teams, football means goals and attack rather than reverting to the old school ‘catenaccio’ style where you try to score and then defend for your life once you do.

Serie A History
Perhaps the only similarly major dominant force to Juventus in European domestic football across the top leagues is Bayern Munich. Bayern have won an incredible 32 titles and considering the league has only been going since 1963, that’s more than half of them.
Juventus have won more titles than Bayern with 36 but then again Serie A has been going since 1929. Their 36 wins are almost twice as many as Inter Milan (19) and exactly twice as many as AC Milan (19).
What makes it all so remarkable from Juve’s point of view is that this is one of the hardest leagues in the world to win. So, it’s even more credit to them that they’re so far ahead despite the high level of competition.
Perhaps most impressive of all were their nine wins in a row between 2011-12 and 2019-20. It’s a feat that is highly unlikely to ever be repeated in Serie A again. It is all the more remarkable for having been achieved with different managers at the helm.
In other words, things change at Juventus, but that winning mentality never goes away.
