There is no shortage of quality races to bet on as we enter the month of June. Bangalore is still the focus of horse race bettors across India this weekend, with seven races scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 2nd. For our latest Indian horse racing betting tips, we have subsequently zeroed in on two of the most prestigious races for the day, with the biggest purses and the most experienced horses in play.
What Are Our Indian Horse Racing Betting Tips For The Weekend?
Here are the two events, along with our top 3 picks, for horse race bettors:
1. The Brig. R. C. R Hill Memorial Trophy
This is a Class 2 race scheduled for the afternoon, with a 3:45 PM starting time on the race card. It is also one of the longer races of the day at 1600m. There are eight horses in contention, and all of them are rated between 45 and 65. The total prize pool for this event is INR 6,80,400 or approximately £ 7700. Here are our Indian horse racing betting tips for the three horses we rate highly for this race:
Blue Moon
A bay filly sired by Win Legend off Integrate, Blue Moon hails from the stables of Neil Darashah. With two wins and two places out of her last five races, she is therefore in red hot form. Her race record looks something like this – 1-3-5-2-1. Furthermore, that last win came on May 19th at Bangalore, and few would bet against her repeating the feat, or at least coming in the top 3.
Impavid
An imperious young three-year-old colt with a 100% record (2 wins out of 2), Impavid is from the A Magalorkar’s stables. Sired by Air Support off Polenta, this dark brown colt subsequently looks eager to score a hattrick of wins on Sunday and should not be taken lightly. However, he is returning to racing after several months off, which could work against him.
Exclusive Blue
A three-year-old rig sired by Ravel (USA) off Blue Sonata, Exclusive Blue is trained by R H Sequeira. He has had an excellent record in 2019, in races at Chennai and Hyderabad. Having scored three places from as many starts, including a win in Hyderabad, he has a record that goes 3-1-2.
Our Pick – Blue Moon for the win, provided that the odds makers list her at 5/1. But she will have to beat a very strong looking Impavid to get it. Besides these two as our favourites, we consider Exclusive Blue as worthy of a long shot punt.
2. The Karnataka Juvenile Million
Probably the biggest race of the day, this one is a Grade 3 term race with 11 horses in the running. All of them are three-year-olds as per the rules of the race. This is a 1400m contest, scheduled for 4:20 PM on Sunday evening. The total purse for the event is INR 1070944 or roughly 12,000 quid. Here are our Indian horse racing betting tips for three top young horses worth a bet in this race:
Kariega
This bay filly has set the tracks on fire in Mumbai this year with two wins out of three starts. Sired by King Da Ka of Smoke Ring, Kariega comes to Bangalore from the stables of Vishal Gaikwad. On Sunday, her jockey will be Akshay Kumar.
War Hammer
A dark brown colt trained by Prasanna Kumar, War Hammer has been superb form in 2019. In fact, the horse scored two wins out of two starts in Bangalore back in February. On Sunday he will then have the experienced jockey P Trevor in the saddle. This colt was sired by Air Support (USA) while his dam is Soviet Lake.
Hunt For Gold
Sired by the legendary Leitir Mor, Hunt For Gold is a bay filly that has shown a lot of promise in her first three races. With two wins and a third place from her stint at the Mumbai race course in 2019, she subsequently looks poised to dominate in Bangalore as well. Trained by P Shroff, Hunt For Gold will have jockey Neeraj Rawal in the saddle on Sunday.
Our Pick – Hunt For Gold is our favourite for this race as long as the starting odds are at 5/1. War Hammer is not too far behind, though. Kariega is an excellent option as a long shot pick.
